Colônia Atlanta is a science fiction work for young readers written by Felipe Tazzo. I was hired by the author to create the book's illustrations, visually translating the characters, settings, and key moments of the narrative.
The project involved creating 26 black-and-white illustrations distributed across the 18 chapters. The scenes were developed directly from the text, capturing moments of humor and character interaction, the daily routine of the Atlanta Colony, and the explorations and discoveries made on the planet Tupã.

One of the main challenges was establishing a visual consistency for this universe throughout the entire work. Characters, vehicles, technologies, and environments needed to remain recognizable from one scene to the next, while each illustration had to clearly depict the specific passage it accompanied.
As the narrative unfolds, the imagery also expands this universe: from the everyday spaces of the colony to the plains of Tupã, as well as the rivers, rock formations, ruins, and ancient structures encountered by the protagonists.
The result is a series of illustrations that visually accompanies the adventure and helps transform the universe imagined by the author into places, characters, and events that the reader can finally see.
